About Us

Kiki Kid's Wear was conceived and born in Vancouver, BC Canada in 2002 by design veteran Petra Fitzner and her husband, songwriter/musician Donald Delano. Having apprenticed as a dressmaker in her native Germany and after studying fashion design in London and Vancouver Petra worked in the Ladies Wear industry for a number of years before getting the urge to strike out on her own.

Having made all her daughter's (Caroline is now a 23 yr old professional dancer/choreographer) clothes when she was a child and being inspired by the looks and comments she got when Lina was wearing her funky original clothing Petra saw an  opportunity in the marketplace for high end, stylish, contemporary, designer children's clothing that offered European quality and design at reasonable  prices. With Donald on board as business manager, photographer and web designer the line was launched,  first to small boutiques in Canada and the U.S.

Always with an eye to the future the couple decided to withdraw, at least temporarily, from the wholesale market to concentrate on selling directly to the end user via the burgeoning market now reachable via the world wide web. Thus, kikikidswear.com was born.
